Baccarat Policies
Baccarat is bet on with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under 10 are counted at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The score for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. e.g., a hand of 5 and 6 has a score of one (five plus six equals 11; ignore the 1st ‘one’).
A third card could be given based on the following rules:
- If the player or banker gets a value of eight or nine, the two players stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he takes a card. Players otherwise hold.
- If the player stays, the banker takes a card on five or lower. If the player takes a card, a guide is used to figure out if the banker holds or takes a card.
Baccarat Banque Odds
The greater of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the house payout 19 to 20 (equal cash minus a 5 percent commission. The Rake is recorded and paid off when you quit the table so make sure you still have money left over before you quit). Winning bets on the player pays out at 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie usually pays 8:1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs less than 1 in every ten hands. Be cautious of gambling on a tie. Although odds are astonishingly greater for 9:1 versus 8:1)
Played properly baccarat gives pretty decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Punto Banco Strategy
As with all games punto banco has some familiar myths. One of which is similar to a misunderstanding in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of events about to happen. Keeping score of past outcomes on a chart is a bad use of paper and a snub to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most established and probably the most favorable scheme is the 1-3-2-6 plan. This method is deployed to maximize profits and limit losses.
Start by wagering one chip. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a sum of three chips on the second bet. Should you succeed you will have six on the table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. Should you come away with a win on the 3rd round, add 2 on the four on the game table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th round.
If you don’t win on the 1st round, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st round followed by a hit on the second creates a hit of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a hit on the third gives you with a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th means you are even. Winning all 4 bets gives you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you are able to squander the second bet five times for each favorable run of 4 bets and in the end, balance the books.
