Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are counted at their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they purely portray the two hands to be dealt).
2 hands of 2 cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for every hand shall be the sum total of the two cards, but the first digit is dumped. For e.g., a hand of 7 as well as 5 results in a total score of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card could be dealt depending on the following regulations:
- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or 9, each gamblers stand.
- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay 19 to twenty (even odds minus a five % commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have cash left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie typically pay eight to 1 and occasionally 9 to one. (This is a terrible gamble as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Avoid wagering on a tie. Regardless odds are decidedly better – 9 to one vs. eight to 1)
When played effectively, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with all games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is never actually a predictor of future results. Keeping track of prior conclusions on a chart is for sure a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most common and almost certainly most successful strategy is the 1-three-two-6 concept. This scheme is employed to increase earnings and minimizing risk.
start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the first wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
