Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards that are valued under 10 are of their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they only represent the two hands to be played).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the grand total of the two cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven and 5 will have a score of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card might be given out depending on the foll. standards:
- If the gambler or banker has a tally of 8 or nine, each players stand.
- If the gambler has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the player hits, a chart is used to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have money left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie customarily pay 8 to one but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a bad wager as ties happen less than one every ten hands. Definitely don’t try putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are appreciably better – 9 to one vs. 8 to one)
Played correctly, baccarat presents pretty decent odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is close to a roulette myth. The past is not an actual indicator of future events. Monitoring of prior conclusions on a chart is a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most common and feasibly most successful method is the 1-three-two-6 scheme. This plan is deployed to boost wins and limiting risk.
start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the fourth wager.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
