Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is bet on with eight decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below 10 are counted at their printed number while at the same time Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not actual people; they just represent the 2 hands that are dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The score for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the first number is dropped. For example, a hand of five and 6 has a total of one (5 plus six equals eleven; ditch the first ‘one’).

A third card will be given using the following rules:

- If the gambler or house has a value of eight or 9, both players stay.

- If the player has five or lower, she hits. Players otherwise stay.

- If the gambler stands, the bank takes a card on a total less than 5. If the gambler takes a card, a chart is used to see if the banker stays or hits.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds

The greater of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the house payout 19 to 20 (even payout minus a 5% commission. Commission are recorded and cleared out once you leave the game so make sure you still have cash remaining just before you leave). Winning bets on the gambler pay 1:1. Winning bets for tie usually pays out at 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a poor bet as a tie occurs less than one in every 10 hands. Be cautious of wagering on a tie. However odds are substantially better for nine to one vs. 8:1)

Bet on properly baccarat gives generally good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Strategy

As with all games Baccarat has some familiar misunderstandings. One of which is close to a false impression in roulette. The past is not a harbinger of future outcomes. Keeping track of previous results on a chart is a bad use of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and almost certainly the most accomplished plan is the one, three, two, six plan. This technique is employed to maximize earnings and limit losses.

Begin by placing 1 dollar. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three chips on the second bet. If you win you will hold 6 on the game table, remove four so you have 2 on the third round. If you win the 3rd wager, put down 2 on the four on the game table for a total of six on the 4th bet.

Should you do not win on the first round, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first round followed by a loss on the second brings about a hit of two. Wins on the first 2 with a hit on the 3rd provides you with a profit of 2. And wins on the initial three with a defeat on the 4th means you balance the books. Winning all 4 rounds gives you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you will be able to give up the 2nd round 5 times for each favorable streak of 4 bets and in the end, are even.
