Baccarat Chemin de Fer Principles

Punto banco is played with eight decks in a shoe. Cards under 10 are valued at face value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The value for every hand is the sum of the cards, however the 1st number is discarded. e.g., a hand of five and 6 has a total of 1 (5 plus six = eleven; dump the 1st ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given using the rules below:

- If the gambler or banker has a total of eight or nine, both players hold.

- If the player has less than five, he takes a card. Players holds otherwise.

- If the player holds, the banker takes a card on a total lower than 5. If the gambler takes a card, a guide is used to decide if the bank holds or takes a card.

Baccarat Odds

The better of the two hands wins. Winning wagers on the house payout 19:20 (even money minus a 5 percent rake. The Rake is recorded and paid off once you quit the table so make sure you still have money around just before you head out). Winning wagers on the player pay 1:1. Winning bets for a tie typically pays out at 8 to 1 but sometimes nine to one. (This is a poor bet as a tie occurs less than 1 in every 10 hands. Be wary of gambling on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for nine to one vs. eight to one)

Gambled on correctly punto banco provides pretty good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Banque Method

As with all games Baccarat has a few general misunderstandings. One of which is close to a misconception in roulette. The past isn’t a fore-teller of future events. Tracking past results at a table is a bad use of paper and an insult to the tree that surrendered its life for our paper needs.

The most familiar and probably the most favorable plan is the one, three, two, six method. This plan is employed to maximize profits and minimizing losses.

Start by placing one chip. If you win, add another to the two on the table for a sum total of 3 dollars on the second bet. Should you succeed you will now have six on the game table, subtract 4 so you keep two on the third wager. Should you come away with a win on the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the first round, you take a loss of 1. A profit on the initial wager followed by a loss on the 2nd causes a hit of 2. Wins on the initial 2 with a loss on the third provides you with a take of two. And wins on the first 3 with a hit on the fourth means you are even. Winning at all four rounds gives you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you will be able to not win on the second round 5 times for each successful run of four rounds and still experience no loss.
