Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards with less than a value of 10 are give a value of their printed value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they just appear as the two hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven and five has a total of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card might be given depending on the following regulations:

- If the gambler or banker has a tally of 8 or nine, each gamblers stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart shall be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the two scores is the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so ensure you have money left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pays 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties will happen lower than 1 every ten hands. Stay away from wagering on a tie. Nevertheless odds are richly better – 9 to 1 versus 8 to 1)

Played properly, baccarat offers pretty good odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with most games, Baccarat has some common myths. 1 of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future happenings. Keeping track of previous outcomes on a chart is a waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and almost certainly most successful tactic is the 1-3-2-6 method. This technique is used to maximize wins and lowering risk.

Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of six on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
