Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards below a value of 10 are said to be worth face value meanwhile 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they only act as the two hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand will be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven … five has a value of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card could be dealt depending on the following practices:

- If the player or banker has a total of 8 or nine, each gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have funds left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie as a rule pays eight to one and occasionally 9 to one. (This is a crazy gamble as ties will happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Still, odds are appreciably better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to one)

Played properly, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is close to a roulette myth. The past is surely not a predictor of future outcomes. Monitoring of past results on a chart is undoubtedly a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and feasibly most successful technique is the 1-3-two-six scheme. This process is used to amplify earnings and controlling risk.

start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the four on the table for a total of six on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the first wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
