Punto Banco Rules

Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are valued at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the 2 hands that are dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for every hand is the sum total of the cards, however the first number is discarded. e.g., a hand of 5 and 6 has a score of one (5 plus 6 equals 11; drop the 1st ‘one’).

A 3rd card might be given using the following rules:

- If the player or house gets a value of eight or nine, the two players hold.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stands otherwise.

- If the gambler stays, the bank hits on a value lower than five. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to figure out if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Banque Odds

The higher of the 2 hands wins. Winning bets on the house pay out 19 to 20 (even payout minus a 5% rake. Commission are tracked and cleared out once you leave the game so be sure to have money around just before you head out). Winning bets on the player pays 1:1. Winning wagers for tie normally pay 8:1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs less than one in every ten rounds. Be wary of putting money on a tie. However odds are astonishingly greater for 9:1 vs. 8 to 1)

Played properly punto banco provides relatively decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Method

As with all games baccarat banque has a few established misconceptions. One of which is the same as a misconception in roulette. The past is not a prophecy of events about to happen. Tracking past results at a table is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and likely the most accomplished method is the 1-3-2-6 plan. This technique is used to maximize profits and minimizing losses.

Begin by wagering 1 dollar. If you succeed, add another to the 2 on the game table for a sum of 3 units on the second bet. Should you succeed you will have 6 on the game table, pull off four so you have two on the third round. If you succeed on the 3rd round, put down two to the four on the game table for a total of 6 on the 4th round.

If you do not win on the first round, you take a loss of 1. A win on the initial round followed by a loss on the second causes a hit of two. Success on the 1st two with a hit on the third gives you with a profit of 2. And success on the 1st 3 with a hit on the fourth means you are even. Winning at all 4 wagers gives you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you will be able to give up the 2nd bet 5 instances for each successful streak of 4 bets and in the end, balance the books.
